Home Lifestyle On International Women’s Day: What do women really want? March is the month of women; it starts with International Women's Day and ends with Mother’s Day celebrated throughout the MENA region. As women are in the spotlight this month let’s ask the burning question again: What do women want?
Love is important in a relationship but unlike popular belief, respect comes first. When in a romantic relationship women want to be respected. Respect must be reflected in the way they are treated, talked to, and talked about. A woman wants her ideas, beliefs, talents, ambitions, passions, dreams, and aspirations respected. She also wants her family and friends respected as well.
There is no better way to invest in a relationship with a woman than to care for her and express that in every way possible. It can be by picking up her favorite coffee or watching the kids while she takes a nap or is in a work meeting. Care is one of the best manifestations of love that women want from a man.
Women need support to feel empowered and strong. They need to feel that their ambitions and dreams are supported by their husbands. Support can be expressed through encouragement, protection, and advocacy, not only in a material way.
Love doesn’t mean a diamond ring and red roses (although they are welcomed always) love needs to be present all the time, in words, actions and gestures. No matter for how long she has been married, a woman needs to hear and know that she is loved and appreciated by her husband all the time.
There has always been a debate about equal pay between men and women at the work. But what women really want is equity as well. Their needs and responsibilities as wives and mothers must be understood by employers. This understanding can be reflected through offering more flexibility in working hours, more remote work opportunities, and more accommodating maternity and breastfeeding leaves.
Women with their maternal instinct have an innate power to care, work hard and multitask, so more often than it is realized they perform great at their work tasks. All they want is for their efforts to be appreciated by a simple well done or good Job! A thank you will go a long way as well.
Women have many ideas and aspirations that they are ready to put into action when given the chance. They just need to be heard.
Motherhood is the toughest and most precious role a woman will ever play in her life. But it is the hardest. The road leading to pregnancy, whether it has any infertility struggles or not, is a great challenge filled with questions and uncertainties. Pregnancy, that 9-month journey packed with changes and joys also brings its fair share of burdens on a new mom. Caring for a newborn doesn’t come with a user manual, nor does raising children. So, a woman would need help and guidance in every step of the motherhood path.
With so many questions, so many doubts, and fears it is very easy to feel lost in this lovely journey, therefore a woman needs guidance in every step. All the help and guidance a woman needs in her motherhood experience is right here on Omooma. Where she can find expert advice and information, to answer all her questions and ease all her fears.
Whether she chooses to get an epidural or have a water birth, no matter if she breastfeeds or bottle feeds her newborn, or if she leaves her baby in a daycare or with a nanny, the sad fact is that a mother is always judged, and it is usually other mothers that are judging. A woman wants to apply her own beliefs and practices in motherhood based on her research and information without being judged.
Being a mother is amazing and beautiful, but it is indeed exhausting. Every mother needs a break, not just once they need it all the time. A mother needs a daily break to have a cup of coffee in peace, and to be able to do something for her mental and physical health. She also needs a bigger break every week to leave the house to hang out with friends, go out on a romantic date with her husband or go to the spa. A once-a-year break would be nice too, most mothers would want that if they can get it, to travel with friends or go on a short adventure.
These were some of the things women want in some aspects of their lives, the list is still miles long and we will share more as we go. Stay tuned!
