Many women can’t stand the smell or taste of meat and fish, but they can make up for the needed protein by consuming plant-based proteins, eggs, and dairy products. You can consult a dietitian or get the help of one of the many available diet apps that provide you with nutritional information, to help you plan your meals. A protein-rich diet can also help prevent preeclampsia.

- Stay hydrated

Doctors always recommend that pregnant women drink enough water. Consuming enough water will help ease nausea, fatigue, and dizziness that many pregnant women experience during the first trimester. Drink two to three liters of water daily, and consume water-rich foods, such as leafy greens and watermelons. Water improves blood circulation, helps in preventing constipation, helps in flushing toxins, and helps in maintaining your kidneys' health.
